Week 2 Blog

I don't have any prior experience on blogging. I never blogged before but I came across some bloggings written by others on the web for different reasons. The blog that I found on the web is sponsored by Healthy Place America's Mental Health Channel. One of the published blog written by Becky Oberg talks about the myths and the truth on PTSD, which I thought was interesting because the she included her personal experience and others resources to support the her point on the issue. Moreover the cite includes several other interesting blogs on mental health subjects and I think it is inviting to readers and bloggers because of the several information's that are included on website.

  2. I visited the blogging site sponsored by American Psychiatric Nursing Association (APNA). Generally, I will say that the blogs are educative and informative. The focus of the blog is to provide an avenue for people to share experiences, opinions and issues that need clarification. I noticed that most of the blogs has not been responded to.The one that got my interest was written by Kathleen Byrne which is about research on nurse's with PTSD. I think that the site is interesting with lots of information on mental health issues. The link is http://community.apna.org/blogs/kathleen-byrne/2015/05/12/research-on-nurses-with-ptsd

  3. Week 2

I have not participate in any form of blogs in the computer system. I heard about blog the first time last semester during my computer informatics class. I found a lot of website that have mental health blog, and some of the bloggers expresses their thought based on so many reasons. The website that l found interested was sponsored by the psych congress network. The blog was published by Leslie Durr, PHD, RN, PMHCNS-BC, is an advanced practice psychiatric-mental health nurse with a private psychotherapy practice in Charlottesville, Virginia.
She wrote about “A NURSE HOLISTIC APPROACH TO MENTAL HEALTH” using her personal experience as a psychiatric nurse as an example. She wrote on how her experience made her to apply holistic approach when caring for her client Mary who has depression disorder. She discussed a nurse’s holistic approach to mental that is different from other mental health discipline. She ended her blog by asking nurses if they have incorporated a holistic nursing perspective into their practice and how did you apply it. My comment towards this blog is that l am going to use the school holistic teaching the l have been taught in conceptual framework by Myra Levine model approach to take of my client when l will start working as a nurse after my graduation.

  4. I have very little experience blogging. However, as a teenager I have participated on many social networking site. These sites have given me the experience needed to be able to express my thoughts because the page belonged to me, so I was about to write what I wanted.
I visited a blog site sponsored by Psych Central, this website expressed multiple mental health disorders and what individuals thought of them. The site was very inviting, it was an easy read and was easy to follow. A very user friendly site.
